We probably stayed at the beach way too long - the traffic would make our commute to Land Shark Stadium a long road trip. It wouldn't be a five minute commute as it would have been back in Iowa. But this was the reason we had made this journey to Miami - to see our beloved Hawkeyes.
On the way we were busy making our signs. We had wanted to get their early and join in on the tail gating. But we missed that portion of the Orange Bowl experience. We got hung up in a traffic jam - stalled car not even the carnage of a wreck that had slowed the traffic down to a crawl.
As you can see it was quite dark by the time we arrived - which is way too late to be arriving at the stadium. I always like to get there to watch our beloved Hawkeye team warm up. We got there too late to really take pictures of the stadium and then by the time the game was over - it was too cold. Guess I will just have to make another trip to Land Shark Stadium sometime in the future.
It is amazing when we are in a hurry it is like having blinders on - we miss so much. I apologize for not having pictures of land shark stadium - please check the stadium out - which is now named the Sun Life Stadium

As I was sitting there thinking about our team in the inflatable tunnel waiting to come out on the field - tears filled my eyes. I was remembering all those Thanksgiving Holidays as child growing up in Nebraska. Thanksgiving dinner was always before the Orange Bowl game. My family would gather around the TV - not to move until the winner had been determined, of the traditional Orange Bowl rivalry game between Oklahoma and Nebraska. Now here I was all these years later not in front of the TV but in Miami. The teams were not Oklahoma or Nebraska but my beloved Iowa Hawkeyes and Georgia Tech.
